About Us
Ed & Martha Lowe
Ed introduced Martha to the "quiet resorts" while they were both undergraduates in 1970. The various
activities they engaged in got them hooked on the area, which included camping at the Indian River Inlet,
fishing crabbing, clamming in the bay and visiting the nearby towns of Rehoboth, Ocean City, etc. Purchasing
their first property of many subsequent ones in the Ocean View/Millville area before their marriage in 1974
further cemented their love of the area. Over the years Ed and Martha have watched the many changes take place
and have many fond memories of the "old days".
- Martha worked one summer waitressing at the original Topside Restaurant. (Bethany Marina is currently in that location.)
- Ed worked construction with Bunting & Shade, when they were just starting out in the Keenwick area and Ed even participated in the construction of the Edgewater House in Sea Colony!
- Shopping at G & E used to be like shopping at an early Super Walmart, as Treasure Island and the food store were connected!
Martha, licensed in Delaware and Maryland, started her Real Estate career as Rookie of the Year in 1993 and has had continued successful years since then. She is ranked in the top 1% of all residential sales professionals in the country. Ed has over 30 years experience in construction and residential rentals and is licensed in Delaware.
As a team, Ed and Martha have bought, sold, rebuilt, and maintained rentals throughout their 34 years together. Working at Long and Foster with buyers and sellers was a natural fit for these two, upon retiring from teaching, as that is what they always enjoyed doing for themselves. Their determination, firsthand experience and expertise in real estate have helped them to assist people to buy and sell property in the Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, Ocean City, and surrounding areas.
Ed became ill in the summer of 2007 and bravely battled cancer for 13 months, with his family and beloved dog, Bo, at his side. He did pass away on August 23, 2008, leaving a tremendous void for the family.
Martha is still working at Long and Foster and, along with the help of her family, is maintaining the various rental properties in the DE and St. Augustine, FL areas. Martha's goal is still to provide the competent, timely, and professional service that she and Ed delivered together for all these years.
